The Broadcom acquisition of VMware has fundamentally altered the economics of enterprise virtualisation. Organisations that once relied on predictable licensing structures now face significant cost increases that challenge IT budgets and strategic planning.
These licensing changes are forcing IT leaders to consider alternatives—but migration concerns create hesitation. Questions around downtime, data integrity, application compatibility, and staff retraining represent real operational risks.
This uncertainty often leads to paralysis, locking organisations into increasingly expensive agreements while alternatives remain unexplored.

We provide clear pathways to cost-effective alternatives without sacrificing stability, performance, or enterprise features—backed by experience across open-source platforms such as Proxmox VE and commercial hyper-converged infrastructure such as Sangfor HCI, Maipu HCI and H3C CAS.
